It’s World Cup time.

Before we get into what’s coming this week, a couple things from last week:

This interview with fired 60 Minutes correspondent Scott Pelley is really something. I’m still hung up on his account of Bari Weiss/CBS News suits asking to make ICE protesters in Minneapolis “look more violent,” as he put it. Obviously he has an axe to grind here, but if that’s even halfway true, it’s despicable.

• The NBA and Stanley Cup finals scored big ratings for their opening games.

• A recommendation: I watched the Earth, Wind & Fire documentary on HBO last night, and it’s really, really fantastic. In addition to hearing a bunch of great music, the film (directed by Questlove) delivers a tight history lesson on the band’s origins, rise and dissolution and delves into what influenced founder and frontman Maurice White — for good and bad. Just a great way to spend a couple of hours.

On to the dates for this week, starting with the world’s biggest sporting event.

World Cup schedule

The 2026 men’s World Cup begins this week, with the U.S., Canada and Mexico as co-hosts (though most matches will be played in the United States). FIFA and the Trump administration have done their best to make the vibes around the tournament are horrible, but I’m hoping (probably foolishly) that those two corrupt entities have a small iota of sense enough to let the games take center stage for the next month.

Group stage play starts Thursday and continues through June 27, with the knockout rounds after that. Fox Sports has English-language broadcast rights in the U.S., and the listings below will show which Fox outlet has each game. Every match will also be available in Spanish on Telemundo and Peacock.
