This newsletter is arriving later than usual — I was at a school orchestra concert last night, and then I settled into watch the Milwaukee Brewers win their first-ever World Series. In full honesty, doing this slipped my mind until right after the Brewers clinched the series.
I’m married to a Milwaukeean, so I’m biased here, but it’s a very fun city, and the team was a ton of fun to watch (less so for fans of the teams they beat, I’m guessing). Comeback wins in nine of their 11 postseason victories? That’s crazy. Cheers to the Brew Crew and Milwaukee — this week’s Friday fish fries are gonna be lit.
Since this is a late arrival, and I’m still going to send streaming ratings later today, I’ll keep it short. Just a couple pieces of TV news before the charts:
• I don’t care that much about cable news ratings (or cable news, full stop), but the outsized drop in audience for Fox News in October was worth looking into. Turns out that in the past six election cycles (presidential and midterm), none of the big three cable news channels had such a big fall-off in the month before the election.
• Ernie Johnson is leaving Inside the NBA after this season. It’s maybe the best sports studio show of my lifetime, and EJ was a huge reason for that. Just watch the “Who He Play For?” segment from the other day to see why.
The top 10 network primetime shows, top 20 on all outlets at all times of day and top 15 shows not including news and sports (and from any time of day) are below.
